Chris Hurst spent 38 years in the High Tech industry with experience in sales, sales leadership, strategy and M&A at companies like Sun Microsystems, Juniper Networks and Cisco Systems. He enjoyed building and growing businesses and high performing teams.

After retiring in 2016 Chris has spent most of his time supporting veteran and first responder initiatives, especially around standing up and deploying drone operations. He still finds time for some golf and riding the Harley in the Hill Country.

Fritz Reber is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Aerodome, a turn-key DFR solution provider. Aerodome provides software for remote operations, integrations with best in class hardware, as well as an integration to detect and avoid capability, enabling true DFR. Prior to Aerodome Fritz spent 4 years as the Head of Public Safety Integration with Skydio. Skydio is the largest US drone manufacturer and designer/maker of the world most intelligent and advanced drones. Prior to that he spent 27 years with Chula Vista PD, retiring in 2018 as Chief of Police. After retirement he helped build the world recognized CV PD Drone Program, he created the idea of DFR and was successful in getting the first FAA BVLOS waiver for a public safety agency.

Fritz Reber’s extensive background in strategic initiatives and deep understanding of drone technology from his tenure at CV-PD, Aerodome and Skydio uniquely positions Back 41 to deliver top-tier drone solutions tailored to the specific needs of injured first responders. His expertise ensures that our agency engagement and drone offerings are optimized for maximum effectiveness, empowering injured public safety professionals to seamlessly reintegrate into service and continue their vital support for communities.

With 17 years in law enforcement with the Austin Police Department, Justin Berry showcases a dedication to safety and justice. Appointed by the Governor as one of three peace officers for the Commissioner for the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), Justin brings integrity and responsibility to this role. Justin holds a Master Peace Officer License that demonstrates his commitment to professional standards.

Beyond policing, Justin is a certified FAA 107 UAS pilot, utilizing technology to bolster law enforcement. Justin’s background in law enforcement and drone technology allows him to effectively serve as Director for Back41, combining his passion for law enforcement with aiding injured first responders. Justin leads with effectiveness and foresight, aiming for positive contributions to law enforcement and communities.
